Material and environment
Specify grade, loading, temperature, chemical exposure and appearance. Similarly named printed, molded and machined materials are not necessarily equivalent.
Filter by process and compare properties, lead time, wall thickness, and relative cost.
Material data supports initial selection. Lead time, wall thickness and relative cost are not project commitments. Confirm grade, process, geometry and inspection requirements, including finish compatibility.

Specify grade, loading, temperature, chemical exposure and appearance. Similarly named printed, molded and machined materials are not necessarily equivalent.
Mark datums, mating surfaces, tolerances and inspection requirements. Avoid applying the tightest tolerance to every dimension.
Compare the current batch and expected lifetime demand. Include fixtures, finishing, inspection and design changes in total cost.
State target dates, finishes, assembly, packaging and split shipments. Production time is not the same as final delivery time.
Confirm substrate and use first, then process, samples and acceptance criteria. Color, thickness, corrosion performance and lead time require project review.
